Jewish Home Recognizes 99 Employees for 1,050 Years of Service

ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 14, 2020 — Jewish Home, one of the largest employers in Rochester, honored 99 employees for milestone work anniversaries for its annual years of service awards. Among those being honored includes Theresa Lamendola, Culinary Assistant and Sylvia Lewis, Unit Secretary both for 40 years of service.

“I embarked on my career when the Jewish Home was a small building on St. Paul Street,” said Lewis. “I have seen many things transpire since then. The Jewish Home builds extensions of families for residents, family members and coworkers. I consider myself very lucky. Where else can you go and be appreciated for the fact that you are part of the team, and are thanked for the care you give on a daily basis?”

“We’re honored to have employees who display loyalty, compassion and courage. Our employees work hard every day to make a positive difference in our residents’ lives,” said Emy Giacalone, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Jewish Home. “We celebrate these employees for their milestone achievements and are grateful every day for their service and contributions to our organization.”

Jewish Home employs more than 1,000 people and was named a Great Place to Work® by the Great Place to Work Institute. The organization aims to enhance the quality of life, health, and wellbeing of residents and their families, giving employees a chance to make a difference in the lives of the senior community every day.

Sylvia Lewis is celebrating 40 years at Jewish Home.
