(Sep. 19, 2024 – ROCHESTER, NY) Several Jewish Home employees were recognized for their exceptional service to its skilled nursing residents at the annual Leon Rosen Exceptional Customer Service Awards.
This award was established by Leon Rosen’s children and their families to honor and inspire employees who improve the lives of residents and patients through excellent customer service. “Take an extra second and do it right,” was one of Leon Rosen’s favorite sayings and the awards honor the concept that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
Two honorees were celebrated for their superior service and compassionate care for Jewish Home residents, patients, and families. Maria Garcia is a Certified Nursing Assistant II (CNA II) who was recognized for consistently going above and beyond to help wherever and whenever she is needed. Sergio Andino, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), was described as, “An unbelievable nurse,” by those who nominated him. His caring demeanor, as well as his bilingual abilities, help residents understand and be more comfortable.
Over many years, Adir Mary Pellicane has been nominated multiple times; and thus, was honored with this year’s Superstar Award. Her nominators described how she goes out of her way to ensure residents feel like family—treating all residents like they are her own parents.
Awards were presented by Rosen’s daughter, Ellen Rosen Konar. While highlighting the winners’ commitment to providing the best service to residents, she commented, “You have a hand in making their experience the best it can be in their final years.”
