Rochester, NY — July 8, 2021 — Jewish Home has received funding for a special initiative that will strengthen its nursing workforce. This program is made possible by a generous donation by Clare and Jerry Rotenberg.
The Clare and Jerry Rotenberg Nursing Scholarship Fund will enable qualified Jewish Home employees to attend a NYS Department of Education-approved school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), all expenses paid—tuition, books, exam fees, and wages.
“Jerry and I are so pleased to provide career advancement opportunities for those interested in nursing,” says Clare Rotenberg. “The number of older adults is growing exponentially, and many aging baby boomers will find themselves in need of long-term care. This educational program will help ensure that Jewish Home continues to be a leader in providing care to our community’s seniors.”
“The heart of Jewish Home is its employees,” says Jewish Senior Life President and CEO Michael King, “We are grateful for this opportunity to be able to help those who would like to pursue a future in nursing, which is such an incredibly valuable and honorable profession.”
