Two Jewish Home Employees Honored as Rochester Business Journal Health Care Heroes

FEBRUARY 15, 2022 — Rochester, NY — Jewish Home announces that two of its employees have been honored as 2022 Health Care Heroes Award recipients by the Rochester Business Journal. The awards recognize excellence, promote innovation and honor the efforts of local organizations and individuals making a significant impact on the quality of health care in the Rochester area.

“The 2022 Health Care Heroes work tirelessly to provide exceptional care to those in need. They are innovators, care-givers, listeners, administrators, healers and individuals often described as miracle workers,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of the Rochester Business Journal. “We are proud to recognize the extraordinary efforts of Rochester’s health care professionals.”

The following individuals from Jewish Home have been recognized:

  • Christine Van Vessem, Vice President of Staff & Organizational Development, was honored in the Management category. She played an incredibly critical role in ensuring that Jewish Home was keeping its residents and employees safe given the challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. She developed an ongoing testing process for 1,000 employees, spearheaded a new Help-On-Demand program that deployed administrative professionals to provide support for the nursing staff, and she designed and implemented vaccine clinics for employees and residents.
  • Christine Visic, Nurse Practitioner, was honored in the Advanced Practice Provider category. She is passionate about our residents and treats them like her own grandparents, and has established a level of trust with our residents and their families. She expects the best of herself and sets an example for those around her. She consistently shows concern for the staff and their well-being, always readily available and willing to provide guidance.

“We are very proud of Christine and Christine for receiving this well-deserved honor,” said Mike King, President and CEO of Jewish Home. “The commitment they have made to continually enhance our residents’ quality of life, the compassion they have for residents and their families, and their exemplary leadership make them an invaluable asset to our organization. We are grateful to them both.”

Van Vessem and Visic will be honored during a virtual celebration on March 24, 2022.
