(December 1, 2022 – ROCHESTER, NY) Jewish Home is pleased to announce that Travis Masonis, Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology, was awarded Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) Young Executive of the Year. The award is given to honor an executive involved in AJAS under age 45 who has demonstrated significant potential and leadership in the field of healthcare management through cumulative achievements or innovative results.
“Travis’s industry knowledge and expertise have been instrumental in positioning Jewish Home as a trailblazer in senior care for innovation and technology, resulting in improved quality of life for older adults in the Rochester community. Travis has championed specific initiatives to establish Jewish Home as a regional, national, and international leader in senior living,” says Michael S. King, President and CEO at Jewish Home. King continues, “Our Board of Directors considers Travis to be an integral member of the executive team. His energy, commitment to staying ahead of the demands in the ever-changing healthcare industry, solid moral compass, and positive attitude make him a role model for many in our organization.”
“Travis helps the nearly 1,000 employees of Jewish Home efficiently and effectively serve residents, patients, and family members with a high-functioning IT environment. He also identifies opportunities to introduce innovative technologies to enhance patient care, to positively impact the economics of health care, and to stay ahead of the competition,” says Alan Kinel, Chair Elect, Jewish Home Board of Directors.
Important contributions by Masonis and his team include the ongoing Innovation Collaborative with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and the development of JSL Connect, a mobile application that connects family members with their loved ones who live on campus. His willingness to go above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic to source much-needed isolation gowns, setting up testing and lab services, and acquisition of employee screening and sanitizing stations were also noted.
Masonis graduated Summa Cum Laude from RIT with a B.S. in Information technology. He received his M.S. in Healthcare Informatics Administration and has completed his Nursing Home Administrator in Training internship with full licensure expected in the very near future. In addition to his leadership role at Jewish Home, he is an adjunct professor at both his alma maters. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Digital Rochester, several advisory committees at Lifespan of Greater Rochester, healthysystemcio.com, Rochester Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO), and has provided significant leadership to Finger Lakes Performing Provider System (FLPPS)—a Medicaid-redesign collaborative addressing challenges associated with caring for the under-served.
