(August 26, 2025 – Rochester, NY) A number of dedicated Summit Independent Living employees were honored with nominations for the prestigious Neil H. Fisher Summit Employee Recognition Awards. Established in 2024 by Neil H. Fisher in tribute to his parents, Donald M. Fisher and Estelle K. Fisher, the award was created to celebrate and acknowledge the outstanding commitment, compassion, and excellence demonstrated by the staff at The Summit. Through this recognition, Fisher hoped to shine a spotlight on the individuals who go above and beyond in providing exceptional service every day. Employees become eligible for nomination after one year of service, and nominations can be submitted by residents, their family members, fellow staff, or management, making this a truly community-driven recognition.
In reflecting on the Neil H. Fisher Employee Recognition Awards, longtime Summit resident Neil Fisher shared, “There is no greater joy in life than to give happiness to others by giving.” It’s the same heartfelt sentiment he expressed last year, and one he continues to stand by with unwavering passion.
Neil, who has been a resident at The Summit for 13 years, proudly assisted in handing out the awards, something he takes great pride in. He noted that he feels strongly about the importance of giving and recognition and says he will continue to share that message for years to come, especially when it comes to honoring the incredible staff who make a meaningful difference every day.
First place was awarded to Izabella S., concierge.
Second place honors went to Temari H.-C., a member of the dining team.
In third place was Moira F., a member of the environmental services team.
All three winners received a certificate and a monetary award. As the first-place honoree, Izabella’s name will also be inscribed on a permanent plaque displayed at The Summit, and a brick engraved with her name will be installed on the grounds of the Jewish Home.
