The Summit Independent Living Employees Honored with Inaugural Neil H. Fisher Awards

Neil H. Fisher Award Honorees and Winners

(AUGUST 2, 2024 – ROCHESTER, NY) Several employees of The Summit, Jewish Home’s Independent Living community were recently recognized for their commitment, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond in their service to residents. In December 2023, the Neil H. Fisher Summit Employee Recognition Awards program was established by Fisher to honor and memorialize his father, Donald M. Fisher, and his mother, Estelle K. Fisher, and to express his personal gratitude for the employees of The Summit Independent Living.

“There is no greater joy in life than to give happiness to others by giving,” says Fisher, who has been a resident at The Summit for over 12 years and proudly presented the awards to this year’s winners. Of the 65 nominations received for a total of 14 nominees, awards were granted to four individuals. Tied for third place were Community Life Coordinator Christine Gilman and Concierge Christine Potter. Nolan Maines, Wait Staff, received second place honors. Mable Hall, a Dining Room Supervisor with a total of 43 years of experience, took first place honors. All winners received a certificate and a monetary award. As the first place honoree, Hall’s name will additionally be inscribed on a plaque to be displayed at The Summit; and a brick engraved with her name will be installed on the grounds of the Jewish Home. Other nominees included:
