ROCHESTER, NY (OCT. 22, 2019)–The Women’s Council of the Jewish Senior Life Foundation is pleased to announce a special speaking engagement featuring Barbara Waxman, a nationally recognized coach and author. At “Bloom,” Waxman will address the concept of “re-potting,” a term she’s coined to represent the act of examining how we want to be in the world and changing our actions, our thinking, sometimes our location, and even the people we spend time with, accordingly.
The “Bloom” event, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 6-8 p.m. at Irondequoit Country Club, includes a light cocktail dinner and dessert. Open to the public, tickets start at $36 and are available for purchase on the Jewish Home website or by calling (585) 784-6384.
“‘Re-potting’ is stepping away from our routines with intention so we can have a better view of our normal habits, relationships and ways of thinking,” said Waxman. “As we gain more experience in life, our desire to find—or create—greater meaning in our lives really kicks into overdrive. We should recognize this time as truly the perfect opportunity to grow, thrive, and bloom.”
Waxman has been featured on CNBC, SmartMoney.com, Fortune, Newsday, U.S. News and World Report and AARP for her insightful views and is leading the charge in the movement to embrace age and hard-earned wisdom.
“Barbara delivers a fresh, inspiring perspective,” said Robin Weintraub, Jewish Home Foundation Women’s Council co-chair and board member. “We’re pleased that we’re able to bring these positive messages to our community, and make a real difference in enhancing meaningful lives at any age. That’s what Jewish Home is all about.”
Members of the Jewish Home Foundation’s women’s giving circle, Miriam’s Circle, may attend this presentation free of charge. This special giving program, founded by women for women, supports programs to enhance the lives of Jewish Home elders.
