Dr. Daniel Mendelson

Dr. Daniel Mendelson is responsible for overseeing Jewish Home’s Medical Department. With over 25 years of experience as a Medical Director in long-term care facilities, he has significantly contributed to geriatric care. He co-founded the Geriatric Fracture Center at Highland Hospital, pioneering a geriatric-orthopaedic co-management model to improve outcomes for older adults with fragility fractures. Dr. Mendelson also founded the Highland Hospital Palliative Care Program and Geriatrics Palliative Care Clinic.

Dr. Mendelson is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology and earned his MD and a Master’s degree in Biophysics from the University of Rochester, where he also completed his training in Primary Care Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He is a Certified Medical Director and board certified in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Mendelson is a Professor of Medicine in Geriatrics at the University of Rochester and continues to contribute to academic programs.
